A lovely positive review from the now defunct 412 Limited - which once upon a time was a beacon heralding all things new and exciting in the respective worlds of ahrt, fashun and musak - not least from a backscratching perspective (though they did call us all ugly, boo-hoo-hoo), have yerselfs a look!

Haranguing The Strange Boys

At a rather reserved but good gig nonetheless at the Arts Centre, it couldn't be helped to present the group with a souvenir of their time in England. Halfway through the guitarist noticed the thing and the dialogue went something like this...

Singer: Ryan would like to say thanks for the 7'' inch

Ryan smiles and looks nonplussed

Sax-Player (looking over): Whats that? The Violence at High Noon? They any good?

Crowd: Passable!

Strange Boys: .....OK then.

It's an exciting thing to have to fruits of your labour loins taken in by a establishment so tastefully excellent as Rough Trade, they even (without any coercion on our part) gave us the following glowing review:

a nefarious stew of bizarro, organ drenched surf garage, the violence at high noon's debut single is fuelled by frenetic energy. whilst there's plenty of youthful bile and enthusiasm here, there's also a keen sense of the weird and the canon - the track opens with the best freaked out hammond intro we've heard in an age, then stomps on from there. a great opening gambit.

An Endorsement From Mick Jones?

Mick Jones of 'Strummer/Jones' Clash fame recently came up to Norwich to visit an exhibition that the art college had curated of various bits of his personal property - including a rather good record collection and a lovely telecaster from London Calling days. We managed to get a record into his hand and a promise that he'd give it a spin...

Perhaps not the most official endorsement... but then it depends on how you chose to look at things.

Single Released

The purpose of this vinyl was for it to be spread as far reaching as possible and to get it into the hands of folks that might appreciate it. As well as a slight sense of self satisfaction. This blog was set up with the purpose of people leaving their comments/hate/praise. We'd all appreciate your news and views. Where are you? Where did you find your copy? If I could put tracers in place I'd ideally have a big map of moving red dots - for the moment this will have to suffice. Enjoy and spread.
